The Deadly Sins

The list of Seven Deadly Sins can be traced back to the 4th century monk Evagrius Ponticus, who listed eight evil thoughts: gluttony, fornication, avarice, hubris, envy, wrath, boasting, and dejection.

Today it's common to list the Seven Deadlt Sins as: gluttony, lust, greed, pride, envy, wrath, and sloth. These are often paired with their opposites, virtues:

ViceVirtue
Lust Chastity
GluttonyTemperance
Greed Charity
Sloth Diligence
Wrath Patience
Envy Kindness
Pride Humility

Should these ideas still serve as a moral guide in our time, or should the lists be revised or updated? Please go to our forums and give us your own suggestions for virtues and vices.
