Tango Solar Candle

Solar Candle, light sculpture
Front view showing
LED & switch.

1994: LED, electronics, solar cell,
recycled tin can, gooseneck.
17" X 3" x 3"
Edition of 9.

Place this Solar Candle in the window during the day, and the solar cell will charge the internal battery. At night you can throw the switch in one direction and the battery will run the LED, providing one candle power of light. Throw the switch in the other direction, and the LED pulses to a tango beat that's eco-romantic.

Unlike a wax candle, this solar candle uses a renewable source of energy, has no flame hazard, produces no polution, and is thus environmentally friendly.

The gooseneck can be bent to point the light where it is needed, for maximum efficiency. The base of this solar candle is a recycled tin can, to promote the idea of recycling and concern for ecology.
