Dr. Schissel:
We seem to be substantially in agreement as to the first step, therefore I have contacted www.DNAdirect,
and ordered a cheek swab kit. I will contact you once I have the DNA preservation swab. Perhaps there should
be a brief ceremony when you use it. I'll leave it to John to decide if this might be appropriate at some SHSNY meeting.
You wrote, "the new Chic will still not be the same as the old one." I completely agree. Your resurrected self will
not be the same as you are today, anymore than you are today the same as the person you were at 20, or at 40.
Never-the-less the Chics of 20, 40 and today are sufficiently similar that you and most observers can agree they
are all more-or-less the same person. I believe we can consider the resurrection successful if the resurrected you
and most observers can agree the resurrected you, and the Chics of 20, 40 and today are all more-or-less the same person.
We shall see, and in seeing I believe we will mark the difference between physics and metaphysics, between what can be observed,
and what can merely be conjectured, between what is promised by theology and what can be delivered by science. |
