Hi Flash:
I don't think cloning a human, atheist or not, dead or not, can prove anything. From the moment of birth the impact of the environment begins to shape the infant's personality, attitudes, and reactions to environmental situations. If I were cloned (and I wouldn't mind) when my clone reached maturity he would be entirely different from me, much like the identical twins reared in different locations. Identical twins reared apart have been found at maturity to share some similarities but to be very different in many ways. (Disclosure: in a few months I'll be 80 years old. My wife says I arrived at maturity last Thursday.)
If a way were found to exactly duplicate every environmental feature it may be possible to come close to duplicating the person, a la resurrection or reincarnation. But this obviously is impossible. Even if duplicating the raw material is possible, duplicating the finished product is unlikely.
Regards,
Chic Schissel
